Ricard Larsson
Graphic Design 2022
client: Verena Kerfin Gallery
This catalogue was developed for the exhibition of the Swedish artist Ricard Larsson in Verena Kerfin Gallery.
Larsson’s sculptural work depicts dense, blackened worlds populated by human figures caught in states of collapse, war and absurdity, oscillating between dark humor and unease.
In collaboration with the artist Ondrej Drescher, we produced a series of large-format black-and-white photographs, alternating between monumental overviews and detailed close-ups of Ricard Larsson’s sculptures. This shift in scale reveals both the intensity of the installations and their complex material structure.
The design of the catalogue follows a strict black-and-white logic, echoing Larsson’s visual language. Typography remains restrained, allowing the imagery to dominate, while selectively crossed-out captions introduce subtle references to censorship and the fragmentation of publications in wartime contexts.
