Hello World - Revision einer Sammlung

With the exhibition Hello World. Revising a Collection, the Nationalgalerie explores the possibility of how a collection predominantly committed to the art of Western Europe and North America might broaden its scope by combining non-Western Europe artistic tendencies and a transcultural approach. What would the collection be like today had a more cosmopolitan understanding of art informed its beginnings. More then two hundret artworks from the holdings of the Nationalgalerie are supplemented with around 150 works on loan from other collections.
The exhibition is organised in 13 parts, curated by 13 curators. We designed special objects in different scales, reacting on the individual needs of every curator. With windows and axis we create dialogues between the artworks. Furthermore we designed various seating areas for the guided tours and museum visitors, who wants to reflect the exhibition.
