The competition proposal for the new visiting and educational center at the Schwesing Memorial Site explores how a place of remembrance can be carefully expanded with limited resources. Instead of replacing the existing pavilion, the sustainable timber construction continues and complements the existing structure by adding two new volumes, creating a flexible ensemble of space.

The project establishes a strong dialogue between interior and exterior. Generous openings frame views towards the memorial grounds connect the learning spaces with the existing outdoor exhibition. Flexible partitions, sliding walls, and curtains allow the spaces to adapt to different educational formats, ranging from larger public events to smaller and more intimate discussions.
